Text Datatype to Date Data Type

Hi all,

I have a property of a type text, this should hold the value of selected date. but is getting -1 hr. when found out i understood that it is taking as BST, as the time difference is 1 hr. it is subtracted from the hold date. and it gets the value as 31072017T230000.000, on the UI it is configured as Date/Time in the format of 1/1/01 1:00 AM.

I tried changing the operator id as Time zone : Europe/London and USDefault as Calendar

But the requirement was to show as Date. it returns 31/07/2017 instead of 1/08/2017

Thanks for answering, My pega version is 7.1.9 

i already achieved it, by using this function:

@DateTime.FormatDateTime(.ExpirationDate,"yyyyMMdd","Europe/London","")+"T000000.000 GMT"

Hi, 

Ideally date value should be stored in date/datetime type property. I am confused regarding the reason for using text to store the date. 

Also when storing the date in DB, it might be converting the same to GMT thus the difference. 

To display it back on the UI in the operator time zone, you might try functions to process the date and re convert the same back to the operator time zone.

Hi,

The reason behind this is that Pega stores the Date in GMT time zone.

You might get some help from below article to fix it. There are other articles similar to this please surf through PDN you might get a solution

Hello Sesha, 

Thanks for posting your query in PSC :)

Could you share below information:

1) Screenshot on the configuration made for the use case. This is to observe if you are setting the value from database.

2) Pega version used. On Pega 7.2.2, I do not see the behavior. I had modified system's date and time to London, and operator's timezone too.

3) Have you tried using FormatDateTime?
