Suppress OOTB message for a decimal property

Is there a way to suppress OOTB message for a decimal property when an alphabet is entered in text input control ?

Even if we try to suppress the OOTB message, how will the text store in a decimal property?

Instead of decimal property, can you use text property so that you can enter decimal too?
