supported Aurora PostgreSQL version
Hi everyone,
Hope you can help us on qurey about Aurora PostgreSQL support.
1. Does Pega have plans to support new versions of Aurora PostgreSQL after Aurora PostreSQL12?
Now we only see information about Aurora PostgreSQL in the Platform Support Guide (https://docs.pega.com/bundle/platform/page/platform/deployment/platform-support-guide/platform-support-guide.html)
2. Will Pega Infinity '23 support Aurora Postgre SQL13 in the future?
Feel free to ask if you need more information.
@Kana K I'm not sure why you have posted your question on this public-facing community forum.
I can see that you logged FDBK-105423 Aurora PostgreSQL support version.
******* SME information provided November 2023 *************
Pega will continue support Aurora. “We have been given the green light to assume cloud vendor's comparable version is certified once the relevant PG community version is certified with AWS RDS by platform engineering team. We are working with the document team to update the Platforms support guide to reflect this decision”
Our current intended policy is the following, though we are still working with Pega cloud due to the cuttyhunk backlog of old Pega versions.
a. Pega releases patches updates for minor versions for 18 months following general availability, followed by extended support of 18 months;
b. When Pega certifies a DB version, it will support Pega latest version X, plus X-1 and X-2 version- i.e, up to 2 years backward certification.
c. Pega may deprecate a DB version 1 year before its EOL.
d. “Whichever Expires First” rule: Pega will stop support any combination of “DB version Y + Pega version X” upon the first of the two expires.
The full message is therefore that Pega will continue support Aurora Postgres.
Clients may prepare upgrade Pega Aurora recommended Pega/DB version once the PSG is updated.
