SQL Server 2014 Compatibility mode on Pega 7.1.8
Hi,
We are currently using SQL Server 2008 in 2000 compatibility mode and planning to upgrade this to SQL Server 2014 compatibility mode. From our DBAs, data type image is not supported in SQL Server 2014, there are are columns (BLOB) with image datatype in Pega.
1. Is there any documentation for steps to follow / for making any changes on pega side for the database upgrades (on pega 7.1.8) ?
2. Is SQL Server 2014 (compatibility mode) compatible with 7.1.8?

SQL Server 2014 has been supported from 7.1.8 onwards. The support for Varbinary(max) to replace Image will be available from 7.2 onwards.

Correcting the question a bit.
We are not using Compatibility mode; will use SQL Server 2014 (upgrade from 2008 R2 to 2014).
If support for Varbinary (max) to replace images is available from 7.2 onwards, what will be the data type of the properties (in SQL Server 2014) that were having data types as images in 2008 R2?

Image is still suported after upgrade. Pega 7 can still work with Image in SQL Server 2014. Alternatively, once you upgrade to the forthcoming 7.2 release, you can use ALTER statements to convert Image to Varbinary(max). This needs to be done at the database layer outside of the Pega platform.

Thanks Rajiv. Let's not discuss on what to do when upgrading to 7.2.
For 7.1.8, do we need to do anything in Pega / just the upgrade of DB from 2008 R2 to 2014 will work with out any changes to be done in pega applications. Do we need to set any compatibility levels @ DB to make it work?
