Spell Check is working based on the Browser setting not configured in Pega ( Not as per the spellchecker instance )
Hi Team,
Spell Check is working based on the Browser setting not configured in pega ( Not as per the spellchecker instance ) .
Steps to create :
Create a section with text area and configure the Spell Check icon and event .
Disable the spell Check in Browser setting.
Set the operator locale.
While clicking the spell check icon , highlighting of text area is happening, but spell check is not happening
Note : If we enable spell Check in Browser setting, it is working fine .
Question : Whether spell check will work only based on the browser setting or any other way ? because ,Spell Check is not working based on the configuration on the spellchecker instance ( properties - Ex : Ignore Captial letter validation etc ) in pega( Ex : en_GB etc).
Env Details below FYR :
Pega Version : 7.2 Personal Edition, 7.1.8
IE Browser : IE11

Yes Mounika . Just I done the POC with text area is working fine for IE -11 but non IE browsers is not working may be text area refer the old spell checker could be reason for this.(Note : For IE is working fine, irrespective selection of Browser side spell check ).
limitation FYI:
-->Other than IE browser , pega spell check (based on pegs spell check instnace )will not work . (Note : Browser sidespell check only will work )
-->Even IE different version also having some limitations.
-->Pega still developing spell check to support other than IE browser
(SR - Response : The old spellchecker uses the old yui library and is uses IE Api. It was never enhanced to work in non-IE browsers. PRPC TextArea still uses old spellchecker.
The new spellchecker is mostly based on JQuery however the component is built in house. New spell checker is supported only for RTE.)

Hello Christopher,
Pega SpellChecker for text inputs and text areas does not work in Chrome, Firefox and since IE11 as well. The reason being that the implementation uses an IE specific API which has been deprecated and there are no alternative API's to replace them.
Please use Rich Text Editor control, spell checker is available by default with Rich Text Editor control

Thanks for your reply .Spell check for text area is working fine for for IE11 and Chrome but some limitation.

For IE 11 ,1. validate only text area not text input .
2. Capital letters / combination of alphabets and numeric are not checking
Note : Google Chriome not having any above limitation.
My Question here is
