Slow search even with indexed objects

Hello,

The search in pega seams to rely on elastic search for indexing etc... Our custom search engine uses Solr plugged on top of the DB, I am wonder why with SOLr we can achieve google like searches, real-time blazing fast results as soon as a character changes in the textbox of the search

While in pega, like in the designer studio, one has to write click enter wait 3 to 5 seconds and get the results.

can we achieve the speed search in pega on change of text, refreshing the results? or it is also a technical limitation in pega?

Hello Elie,

Could you please confirm which alerts do you observe in your ALERT logs?

How long does it normally take to fetch records from the database directly?

Can you elaborate more on the customized search you have?

Generally, out of the box elastic search works like a charm on my locally installed environment.

Hi Elie,

Could you please share pega version.If it is pega infinity then please check pega alert logs.Are you getting pega0101 alert logs.If yes then you need to enable stream node.If it is prior to version 8 then check the index files.It might be corrupted.

I'll check the Stream node (I'll try to get back to you asap, but currently we have a problem in starting the env)

Hello @Lochan_DV,

SR-12640 is already raised by our tech team two weeks ago on may 2nd, and after multiple screenshare and logs sharing, the environment still unstable and hangs 50% of the time on restart

Hi Elie,

On reviewing the SR we see that it has been resolved after changing the Tomcat Connection Pool implementation from the default Apache Commons DBCP connection pool to the Tomcat Connection Pool org.apache.tomcat.jdbc.pool
