Simulate keydown/keyup event of an autocomplete.

We have a requirement where autocomplete and button sit side by side. On click of button i need to show the results in the autocomplete pop_over. i.e., onclick of a button i need to trigger the keydown/keyup event of the autocomplete. Please can someone help on this.

It is hard to follow how an autocomplete would populate by clicking a button (without typing anything?) Unless you meant you want to show results after typing, but only after also clicking a "show results" button. At which point, an autocomplete is the wrong control for you.

Can you elaborate on this and/or provide annotated screenshots of a mock up of what you are trying to design?
