Autocomplete Issue
Hi Team,
Pega out of the box control Auto-Complete gives you the ability to type in few characters and based on the characters it gives you back the results based on the Source provided which can be Data page, RD etc.
Auto-Complete as a control does not validate the value selected or typed in manually is valid according to the source list of values.
we found online for validations while using autocomplete. It doesnot work.I think we have a problem with one of the JS
I am using pega 8.5 version.

I have a requirement to add a validation for each auto-complete control. I have to explicitly do validation in post activity for every Auto-Complete I have on my screen.
Can you please have a look..

Yes, if you enable "Allow Free Form input", users can enter free text in the autocomplete and it will not validate it by itself. In Result, your value will not be updated correctly in clipboard.
You can try few things. Try disabling the Free form input or try adding a refresh action on the on change of AutoComplete and add validation logic in some DT or activity for validation in there. That works.

Thanks Prakash..Yes I am using validate rules explicitly only but cant we use Javascripts as the solutions mentioned in https://collaborate.pega.com/question/auto-complete-control-validaiton

Yes, You can certainly use the mentioned approach. But, please be-aware the these are javascript files at harness level sometime result in errors at run time.
You can check the JS code provided in the above URL and if you are fine with it. You should go ahead and add those to your harness level.
