Session is not killed when browser is closed or user timed out

Is there any way to kill the session of the user when user accidently closes the browser or when system is slow they have to close the browser. Similarly, user has to close the entire browser after session timeout.

We're using Pega 7.1.8 on WSS 8.5.5
