Migration from AIX to Linux 7.x

Our Current PRPC 7.2 is installed on AIX 7.1 WAS 8.1 Oracle 12C
We are targeting to move to Linux 7.X
Target: Linux 7.X , IBM WebSphere Application Server/8.5
Is there any document or article to be followed for the same.
Till now I have the below information:

Install WAS in Linux and then deploy the application in the WAS environment running on Linux.

Hi,

There is no specific document. High level steps as below can be followed. 

1) Install WAS 8.5 on Linux 7.x

2) Follow the WAS installation guide for OS related settings to match according to Linux. (Ex:- Pega Temp Directory)

3) Point to existing DB as Linux WAS Datasource settings.

4) Start the server & validate. (Ensure WAS on AIX was brought down)

Hi Naresh

Thanks for Replying .Just curious to know  did you face any such challenges with WAS8.5 while

Upgrading with Linux 7.x?

Also o the same note we have existing MDB /Agents/JMS  running on the production. If we are moving for the upgrade, is there any specific thing that we need to configure or same configuration will work want to know on high level?

Hi,

Not as aware of any specific issue on WAS 8.5. MDB /Agents/JMS should not have any issues as WAS binary will be of Linux and will be having .so/jar files compatible to it.
