Section refresh on a Tabbed screen throwing exception - sax parse error: Content is not allowed in prolog
Hi,
We have upgraded our application from Pega 6.2 to Pega 7.3 and getting exception in logs as - "sax parse error: Content is not allowed in prolog"
Its happening mainly in an input screen which is having "Multiple tabs". Each tab having different fields/controls and Refresh sections event based on conditions. Issue is intermittent but it happens primarily when -
1. Data is being captured in one of the tab and on any action event of a control when section gets refreshed, we get the exception in logs.
2. From one tab, when we jump to any other tab randomly, in screen we get - "Stack Trace Error message - Failed to find instance @baseclass.PerformTabbedAgreement of type Rule-HTML-Harness." and logs gives us error - "sax parse error: Content is not allowed in prolog"
The Harness rule is already present in application Work class

Hi Manajit,
I have faced this error lately. Issue in my application was related to closing <script> tag was missing in userWorkForm HTML rule .
Try below steps to narrow down the root cause and figure out the solution:
1. Revalidate and Save the Rule-HTML-Harness and check if everything is validated.
2. Open the flow rule which renders that section and unit test that?
Provide below information:
1. Are you getting any error pop-up on the screen for which you are getting exception?
2. Are you getting any error in browser console?
3. Is issue happening for one section only or others as well?
Please test and update the details , so we can help further.

Hello Gurpreet,
I already did Revalidate and Save for the Harness & Flow rule before posting this issue and there is no problem in the rules it seems.
As requested the info -
1. Are you getting any error pop-up on the screen for which you are getting exception?
- There is no pop-up error over the screen whenever the exception occurs.
2. Are you getting any error in browser console?
- In browser, we are getting the error. Snapshot is attached below.
3. Is issue happening for one section only or others as well?
- It's a tabbed screen, each tab is having different section. Error is happening intermittently in any of the tab ( when we jump/navigate from one tab to other).

Hi Manjit,
There could be multiple reason form this error. Basic reason for this error is somewhere, XML parsing is failing. It could be when data is loaded into clipboard or fetched from clipboard.
If you are using any custom section or any JS , check the formatting.
Try to resave all the sections referred in tabbed screen and test.
