Running Package Server as a Windows Service

Out client requires to run both package and status processes as windows services. Is it supported and if not are there alternatives?

Thanks for the useful information but it still doesn't answer my question. I found some tools that can run any exe as a windows service (like NSSM and AlwaysUp) but not sure if security will allow third party tools.
