Restart from Deployment Pipeline in Pega Deployment Manager

How does a restart from Pega Deployment Manager work? Is it a rolling restart or does it cause downtime?

If it is a rolling restart, consider this scenario:
Suppose I have 2 web nodes and 1 batch node. Since there's only one batch node, would that mean batch processing experiences downtime during the restart?
