Report generated excel is not editable in Pega 7.1.9
There are reports used in application which displays export excel option. The excel generated by these options opens in protected mode and non editable for filters etc. It is reported on win10 machines while on win 7 machines enable editing button is displayed on sheet generated.
I checked and these sheet are generated through javascript in back end. We are using prpc 7.1.9.
Please suggest fixes or workaround.

Have you tried to disable Protected View in Excel itself on Windows 10 machine. Its not recommended as it disables the protected view for any excel (especially if user does download excel files/templates from un-secure internet sources), but worth a try.

As per my discussion on SR the xls sheet downloaded from another website worked. Because it displayed the enable editing button but the xls sheet generated by pega report definition is not having such option. Also got suggestion from SR engineer that upgrade to 7.2 version will fix this issue but we don't have pega upgrade plans recently.
In this case certain hotfix should be provided if this is being handled in prpc higher versions.
