Query regarding softwares for upgrade

Hi,

Our applications are going to be migrated to following platforms on our internal cloud.

 

 EM Application    1. IBM WebSphere Liberty v Proprietary information hidden  2. JAVA 8.0_6.31  3. Oracle 19 CBID    CBID Application  1. IBM WebSphere Liberty v Proprietary information hidden  2. JAVA 8.0_6.31  3. PostgreSQL 11

 

Could you let me know which version of Pega we can use 8.5 or 8.6?

Platform support guide does not mention anything about IBM WebSphere Liberty v Proprietary information hidden. So we wanted to get clarity about which Pega version we can use for upgrade.

Also, please confirm if there will be any issue with above combination. And as per my understanding, we need to go with WAR deployment (and not EAR deployment). Please provide confirmation on the same as well.

So could you confirm if  we can not go ahead with IBM WebSphere Liberty v Proprietary information hidden  2. JAVA 8.0_6.31 with Pega 8.5/8.6? As per my understanding, Pega supports upgrading to higher version softwares

IBM WebSphere Liberty v20.0.0.x (using IBM Java 8) is supported for Pega 8.6 and would suggest going with the same version as this is tested and certified.

Could you confirm if we go with higher version of liberty, will Pega provide support in case of any issues? As far as i know Pega always recommends to go with upgraded version of softwares and to help customers in case of any issues.

Hi Sandip,

IBM WebSphere Liberty v20.0.0.x (using IBM Java 8) is supported for Pega 8.6 and would suggest going with the same version as this is tested and certified. Any deviation from upgrade guide is not supported but you can submit the INC ticket to confirm on the same from Pega support team.

 

Once you raise an INC, please update the thread here so that we can track here also.
