prpcserviceUtils comaptibility

we have used prpcServiceUtils version 8.4 to implement devops for Pega 8.4, after upgrade to Pega 8.8.3, can we continue to use prpcServiceUtils version 8.4, or is mandatory to upgrade the serviceUtils version also.
