Property not picking on local actions with a When condition
Hello All,
I have checkbox that has the following Actionset:
1) Post Value
2) Run Data Transform
3) Refresh Section
4) Local Action (based on a when condition to check whether pagelist is > 1
My data transform appends data to a top level page which are copied based on certain criteria. I want my local to fire only when the pagelist is > 1. I have tried following approached:
1) A when rule in the in local action to check the lengthofpagelist which does not work
2) Setting a flag value in my data transform and having the value displayed on the UI and again firing the Local Action based on value.
The first time I check the box, nothing happens however when I check and uncheck the box again the local action displays'. However, when I click cancel, the popup open up again.
I am all out of ideas. It would be great if someone could help!

With the below steps you can launch the modal dialog based on when condition:
Actions on the checkbox:
1.Postvalue
2.Data Transform (Here have a step to store the length of pagelist to a Property A)
3.Set Value (Set the Property A value to an intermediate flag say Property B)
4.Launch Local action using when Another property setting and refer Property B here.
In the section use a hidden control for Property B.
I have tried the above and its working.
These steps are required as the property value should be present in the DOM for the When condition to work.

When rule associated to actions are meant to show the action depending on a condition.
As such the LocalAction is rendered based on the When rule evaluation.
At the time of running of the action, the markup already got generated and thus the When rule is not executed.

Hello,
For this scenario refer this link "https://collaborate.pega.com/question/launching-local-action-when-condition-not-working" . Correct answer worked for me. if you don't want to show the property to user. Hide that by using pxHidden Control and don't try with any of the visibility conditions.
