PegaReach and CICS
We are still using PegaReach 6.5.
Our systems' guys want to upgrade CICS to 5.3.
Does anyone if there are problems updating to CICS 5.3 with this very old version of PegaReach?

PegaReach is a windows based client which connects with the PegaWorks server. Users who has UNIX based PegaWorks servers 7.x and 8.x, connects the server from windows system using PegaReach client. And Mainframe based users use another client software called PegaViewAce to connect. CICS seems to be related to Mainframe and I am not sure how are you connecting it through PegaReach and what type of application you are running. If you are running Mainframe/VAX/VMS variant of PegaWorks server then I would recommend you to open Support ticket to get the required answers, as these are legacy products.
Please provide the CICS PLIMSGLOG job output file that shows the output from the PegaWORKS application running on CICS. (This file with have the transaction identifier string PSUP.)
This will help us determine the version of the server code in use.

Basically PegaReach windows client application is used to connect to Unix based C++ Pegasystems.
For Mainframe based pegaworks systems (P-System) the user interaction is either the mainframe terminal (CICS region) or PegaVIEW ACE is installed on windows desktop to connect to the mainframe system.
From the log snippet that you have shared it looks that you are usinng p98.1 system. I would like to understand in your current setup which pegaworks system are you connecting from PegaREACH ?
In your query on compatibility are you referring to comaptibility of this p98.1 system with CICS 5.3 ?
