Pega7 Upgrade Accelerator pack - free form layout not converted to dynamic layout if it has more than one rows or columns
We tried using Pega7 Upgrade Accelerator pack for upgrading deprecated layouts. We found that the upgrade accelerator upgrades free form layout to dynamic layout only if the free form layout has Single cell. But, in our application, in most of the sections, we have free-form layouts with more than one columns and rows. Is there any specific reason for this kind of restriction? How can we extend Pega7 Upgrade accelerator pack so that it will be used to convert free form layouts with more than one columns and rows to dynamic layouts?

If any of the free form layout Field column contains label instead of icons, will the free form layout not converted to Dynamic layout?
In HELP section, it is mentioned that we have to create dynamic layout format as specified below as a prerequisite. In which section do we have to create these layouts?
Ensure that you meet the following prerequisites before you run the tool.
Create four different dynamic layout formats as specified below. For information on how to create a dynamic layout format, see the Pega 7 Platform Online Help.
- Inline grid single left (single column with labels aligned to left)
- Inline grid double left (2 columns per row with labels aligned to left)
- Inline grid triple left (3 columns per row with labels aligned to left)
- Inline grid quadruple (4 columns per row)

First query:
Free form layouts should strictly adhere to the Row format or column format, that means it should be in the combination of Label and control. If its not adhering then it will not convert. In your case field will contain the label so it will not convert it to dynamic layout.
Second query:
You have to create four dynamic layout formats in your application skin before running this tool. This is because OOTB dynamic layout formats will have by default label on top. So if you have free form layout with label on left then this 4 dynamic layout formats should be there in the application skin to convert free form layouts to dynamic layouts with same look and feel as how it was earlier.

Upgrade Accelerator not only upgrades single cell free form layout but also supports Column format and Row format free form layout specified in the Help section.So please check Help section in Pega 7 Upgrade Accelerator Pack landing page for more info.
