Are there plans to publish Pega8 Upgrade Accelerator Pack ?
Our clients still have applications running with PRPC 6.1/6.2/6.3
They are planning to upgrade directly to PRPC 8.1.3 soon by skipping Pega7 altogether
Hence... are there plans to publish Pega8 Upgrade Accelerator Pack ?

Please follow below link for Pega platform 8.1 upgrade guide. You have choices to select the application server and database.

In the upgrade guide, there are special sections for "upgrading from PRPC 6.1 sp2 and earlier" and etc.
I am not aware of that there is Pega 8 Upgrade Accelerator Pack.

Most of the utilities are now available in the platform.
We are not planning to have any Pega8 version of the upgrade accelerator pack.

Yet upgrade landing page in 8.1.3 DEV STUDIO has not changed much compared to 7.3.0 DESIGNER STUDIO
Many legacy features have been deprecated between 7.1.X - 8.X.X and we could not mention all of them here. Yet our clients are under the impression that an upgrade from 6.X SPx to 8.X.X will take the same amount of effort as an upgrade to 7.3.X
We mostly did tolerance level upgrades till 2017 + Upgrade Accelerator Pack helped us till 7.3.X

- Both Tolerance Level upgrade and Compliance Level One upgrade are irrelevant (Technically Not Feasible for a 6 to 8 hop)
- Half the folks engaged in an upgrade project have never logged into a PEGA6 portal (let alone PEGA5)
- Pega8 Upgrade Accelerator is not available
- How would we convert every legacy reporting rule to report definitions ?
- How would we convert every legacy layout to dynamic layouts ?
- Post layout conversions... how would we apply the skin formats to every layout and UI control ?
Kindly verify and address our concerns.

about the new utilities in PEGA 8 il there some feature for comparing platforms (i.e. TEST vs PREPRODUCTION vs PRODUCTION) like there was in this ECT tool or in the accelerator pack ("Rule & Database Comparison") ?

Latest version of Pega7 Upgrade accelerator works more or less fine in Pega 8 platform
We have verified this with 8.1.0 and 8.2.2
NOTE # Conversion of 'legacy reporting rules' to 'Report Definitions' has glitches.

Hi All, we are planning an upgrade for our client, from Pega 7.3 to 8.3, and I am browsing through accelerator packs, If I understood correctly, this accelerator pack is only useful for Pega 6.x to---> 7.x Or 8.x Versions. This is not useful for 7.x to 8.x, is that right, please let me know.
