Pega Update Timeliness
We went live last weekend and the update was epic failure after 48 hrs of effort.
Our database has just 2.5 million records in production.
Pega update alone took 26 hrs to update.
Then healthcare framework took 17 hrs to import and then due to time constraint we rolled back the update.
In SQlserver they did always on(high availability) on secondary db as well during the update process. I believe that is what caused the slowness in the pega update .
On the healthcare framework install , it took 17 hrs but as its just framework import , I am not sure how it took 17 hrs in production to finish.
Could you please someone help me what was your PEGA update experience ?
How much time will HCF framework take approximately with the above amount of production data ?

Upon reviewing the associated Support Request, SA-63391 Update of Pega application takes a long time to complete was generated as the resolution. Please refer to this Support Article if you have the same issue.

Did you open an SR for this? This is a highly database intensive process. The node you are running the upgrade from should be as close to the database server as possible (same data center) to avoid multiple hops across the network. This line from your description is probably the key to why this took so long but without looking at the log files to see on what steps the time was all spent or if it was just overall incredibly slow because of the network or db replication. In general these times are way longer than I would expect for this upgrade. How long did it take for an upgrade in the lower environments?
