Pega UDF is required for installation
Hi,
we are planning to install pega 8.4 in postgreSQL DB. I would like to know, Is it mandatory to install UDF in pega. I read few post in pega it mostly says that UDF is required only if we want to reference any unoptimized/unexposed property in pega. Could anyone please help me, Is it necessary to enable java in DB and UDF is mandatory to install? What happens when we don't enable java and install UDF? Do UDF is required to access OOTB properties?

Not mandatory to install UDF during installation.
UDFs can be used for report definition rules to retrieve data for properties that are not exposed. If you do no install UDF's, then you will need to expose any column that you would use in a report.

The link which you have provided it says it is a must to install UDF when split schema is used. yes in our DB we are planning to for split schema. hence we will install UDF. Thank you once again for the help!
