Pega Tracer is very slow
Hi Team – We are experiencing poor performance in Pega Tracer in our development environment.
Without tracer open we can create manual interaction within a seconds and while opening the tracer takes more than a minute.
It is very difficult to us to perform the troubleshooting with this condition.
We tried less tracer option instead of selecting “ALL” and same results. No specific errors in the logs.
Appreciate your ideas and help.

It's an expected behaviour as per my knowledge,
As tracer tool is expected to create XML capturing all the rules invoked and series of execution and it's an additional task apart from your executing action.
The Tracer XML Output Viewer is a Windows program that presents and summarizes the Tracer output data (saved as an XML file) in an attractive, interactive tree-like format.
There is a configuration to select particular "Events to Trace", you can select only necessary events. Also, avoid by deselecting OOTB rulesets to trace rather just your custom or operators ruleset to again minimize the rules to trace. It can be done by deselecting rulesets from "RuleSets to trace" option.

Alternatively, you could use the clipboard tool to test and debug a flow rule. If you want to avoid that particular use-case in which tracer isn't helpful.

Hi,
As Asif said, tracer has the potential to slow down the general performance and that is why it is used only for the purpose of debug.
If you log in as [email protected] and then run any sample test case and keep the tracer running, do you see slowness then?
