Is pega ootb file attach and store in DB viable for huge volumes
Is Pega OOTB file attach to a case viable option for huge volumes? Our business case is to let user attach file to a case and access it back as needed. Volumes wise, thousands of files(any type) in a month. Approx 10 GB a month in total size of all files. If pega OOTB features are not recommended to use for huge volumes, what are other pega recommendations? Any cloud based integration solutions?

Hi,
You can use third party content management system(CMS) to store the files.

Thank You. Please suggest some options that integrates well with Pega. We have tried Filenet and failed because of limitations to certain mime types. I am looking for fast, reliable solution that works with huge volumes

Based on your license cost you can choose popular content management systems like box.com, sharepoint, alresco.

To add more complexity to my requirement, we have to move existing documents from current sytem that we are migrating to Pega and continue referencing the attachments to the existing case. Also our Business is specifically looking for keeping data on premises. May be sharepoint is the best...So, I am still exploring and trying to understand which option is the best but if you can point me to some PDN links that has step by step documentation it will be great help.

Thank you.. Any thoughts on how easy it will be to migrate existing documents from legacy system(non pega) to Alfresco(Pega)?

Typically filenet in any company will develop wrappers and we need to only interact with the wrappers and let those wrappers do file injestion for performance sake. I will be the happiest person of the day if someone says Pega current capabilities allows to directly interact with filenet.

I believe FileNet has (optional) CMIS bindings. If these are exposed, the Pega Application will be able to Integrate with it using the same CMIS tools that have been mentioned for using with Alfresco.
