Pega EAR and application fail to start
Hi,
I have a pega EAR(62sp2) which has references to MQ,activation spec and connection factory.These resources are not created in the application server and i am trying to deploy the EAR.I can deploy the EAR but application never starts throwing Exception javax.resource.ResourceException: Failed to lookup ActivationSpec.I am just checking if this is the default behavior of any application or specific to pega. I am thinking irrespective of Exception application should start and log the exception in pegarulelogs.Please let me know if anyone has any insight on this ?

You should create ConnectionFactory,Queue/Topic in application server. If not you will see the error as reported.

Hi,Iam asking if this specific to pega EAR or any EAR deployed in Websphere application server that won't start the application itself if the resources are not present.

Hi Dinu,
You need to have all supporting resources created and configured in Application server before deploying EAR.
As mentioned by Gangababu, you need to create CF, Queue/Topic, Activation Spec etc

It is industry standard.
EAR having other container dependencies, can not be started successfully if those dependencies are not resolved ,ie appropriate resources are not created/configured in Application Server.
