Pega can connect 'Oracle Database 12c Enterprise Edition Release 12.1.0.2.0 - 64bit'
I am trying to connect DB as a read only user.
I am able to connect the database, but when i test Database Table connection, i am getting below error. I am not sure if its Pega problem or Oracle problem, does any body know this issue?
Could not determine Oracle version from product name 'Oracle Database 12c Enterprise Edition Release Proprietary information hidden.0 - 64bit Production With the Partitioning, OLAP, Advanced Analytics and Real Application Testing options'

Is your PRPC system actually running on another database/version and this is an external database that you want to connect to?
You need hfix-9120 PRPC v6.3 SP1 support for Oracle 12c

Then you just need to apply the hot fix. If you cannot get it from hot fix self service then you can open an SR to get it sent to you.

The problem is that if you have already upgraded to Oracle 12c without applying the hotfix Celeste mentioned... the engine does not start. Here is a quote from an internal document that can get you through:
Scenario 1 - Updating an Existing PRPC 6.3 SP1 instance and then Upgrading to Oracle 12c
- Apply HFix-9120 to PRPC 6.3 SP1 using Update Manager (see the attached DL).Important Note: You must apply HFix-9120 prior to upgrading Oracle from a previous version (for example, Oracle 11g) to Oracle 12c; otherwise, the PRPC engine will not start, and you'll need to follow the steps in Scenario 3 below to recover from this condition.
- Upgrade Oracle from your previous version to Oracle 12c.
Scenario 2 - Performing a Fresh Install of PRPC 6.3 SP1 on Oracle 12c
The Engineering team may simplify the steps in this scenario, but for now you can follow the steps below to perform a fresh installation of PRPC 6.3 SP1 on Oracle12c.

- Extract the DL-31880.zip
- Extract HFIX-9120.JAR
- Go to lib\pega\ to find the prpublic,jar
- Go to com\pega\pegarules\pub\database to find the DatabaseInformation.class
- Extract the lib\pega\prpublic,jar from the original PRPC 6.3 SP1 distribution media archive 114262_PRPC_v6.3_SP1\archives\pegadbinstall-classes.zip prpublic,jar to a temporary location.
- Update the com\pega\pegarules\pub\database\DatabaseInformation.class in the prpublic.jar from step 5 with the version of the DatabaseInformation.class from step 4 above.
- Update 114262_PRPC_v6.3_SP1\archives\pegadbinstall-classes.zip, with the newly modified lib\pega\prpublic.jar from step 6 above.
