Pega 8.3.1 - Kafka stream nodes are not running after the restart

We have 2 UAT server with 3 nodes each server and has its own dnodetype configuration:

Server 1:

node 1 - web

node 2- web

node 3 - stream node

Server 2:

node 4 - web

node 5 - web

node 6 - stream node

We are new to kafka stream technology.

Everytime we restart the servers we are getting Joined Failed for the stream nodes and even if I manually start them its not coming up.

I just want to ask if the node sequence of restart script has factor why the stream ndoes are not coming up.

Do I need to restart first stream nodes before other nodes?

Any idea?

Hi,

Is there still no documentation on why this continues to occur?

We have OS restart scripts that stop the web container (TC Server) and restarts it.

It's only when we moved to v8.3 that we've had issues with this.

 

And I've also seen posts instructing to truncate pr_sys_statusnodes table etc.  This is not something that we want to be doing regularly in a production environment.  We also not want to be continuously logging into Pega after every restart to stop, decommission and start stream services.  This should not be done in production.

 

So can you please chase up how this is supposed to function without the need for these manual steps to correct.
