Pass values from Pega Mashup to Salesforce

We are using 'Pega Extender for Salesforce.com' to launch Pega Mashup from Salesforce page.

How to pass values from Pega to Salesforce (such as case status) without using SOAP/REST services? Is there a concept similar to 'OUT' parameter (like in DB Stored Procedures)?
