PageList inside Pagelist - Looping and Retrieving Values
I have a Pagelist BudgetYear which has other Pagelists FringeBenefits and Personnel.
I need to loop over all Personnel Pagelists and in each of the Personnel pagelist, I need to copy a property over to my FringeBenefit Pagelist.
What i am doing is counting all of my budget years as follows and then for each of those budget years, I am trying to loop through my Personnel and set the property.
I am getting two errors ciz.
My Param.Count in 1.1 (set to @String.toInt(param.pyForEachCount) is blank in my tracer when I execute Step 1 and
I am unable to set the property due to the fact that I am unable to get a handle on the Personnel Pagelist due to my syntax errors.

Can you please SHOW me how to set the properties using (CURRENT) and/or (<APPEND>) while looping through the Personnel Pagelist.

Hello,
So you need to copy a property from Personnel(1) into FringeBenefits(1) ? Is it always one to one situation?
If yes then I would loop on Personnel() put param.pyForEachCount into another parameter say "param.position" as well as the property "param.myvalue" and then set FringeBenefits(param.position).property.
Something like that.

Thanks for the approach but I am actually looking for specifics. Can you kindly help as I am a novice to pagelists and my lead wants me to use DataTransforms only.
How can I loop using ForEachPage? I am not sure what ' Also use Each Page as Source Context ' means.
I am retrieving the size of my BudgetYear pagelist as '@SizeOfPropertyList(Primary.BudgetYear)'. In my tracer the value is blank.
Then I used '@String.toInt(param.pyForEachCount)' using 'ForEachPage in' (you look at my screenshot) and this is also returning blank but I see the BudgetYear pagelist on my clipboard.
Can you please advise how I can accomplish this in a Data Transform?

Hi Chakri,
The code you are using viz. '@String.toInt(param.pyForEachCount)' is correct.
The fact that the value in your tracer is blank but your clipboard has BudgetYear entries is because Pega is unable to find the CONTEXT of the page you are running. Define your BudgetYear in the Pages and Classes in your DT instead of calling it as Primary.BudgetYear in your Step 1.

I am providing you a example of how I have configured PageList looping.
In My case Packages is a PageList, In that I have Entities Page looped by itself.
Using an Activity I am setting the values of Name property in few pages in random.
Append will create an index of the pagelist. So I will provide you a picture of how the pages got created and values were set.

The diagram below was most helpful in understanding the use of 'DOTS' and the use of 'Append' and 'Last' for the pagelist.
Can you please show me
1. how to get the size of your Packages List and the size of your Entities List on EACH package and also
2. how to use (<CURRENT>) while looping in a DataTransform and not in an Activity?
3. how to use your entities pagelist which is on packages pagelist in a 'TABLE' layout (which has pagelists as a source) where I can use the add item and delete button (instead of activity) to add for example entity two on package four using parameters for determining the length or the size of your individual packages?

3. You can have a table layout to show package page list. And call a section in master details of the editable grid. In that section make use of Hierarchial table to show entities of each package list. You can add/delete item in this configuration.

I want to display the Name of Entity dynamically :- for example on the third package I want to know the name of the fifth entity.
I created Entities as a SEPARATE Class i.e Entities is a child class of Packages.
I am now trying to display the Entity Name in a Table in a section created in the Packages Class i.e I want to display the child class's properties in the parent class.
Can you please show me how to do that using 'Embedded Sections' dynamically?

Hi Chakri,
I think you might be using inline editing for your embedded tables.
Please use Master Detail and customize your Flow Action to do what Add Item does in Inline Editing. Note that when you use the Flow Actions, PEGA might not show you the correct class in the drop down. Ignore it and save it in the correct class hierarchy (i.e packages and entities) and run it. As long as the sections and flow actions are saved correctly, the context will be pickled up at run time.
