Operator access restriction - allow access to update password alone
Hi,
As part of the user access restriction exercise , we have been trying to implement the capability to allow a developer only to update his password but not any other element of the operator record.
Since access roles to object can be imposed only at the class level and not an element with in the class , can anyone help me with this requirement as to how this can be implemented?

Thanks for responding , but the requirement is to allow update password but to restrict updating other aspects of the operator record. hope you can understand the problem statement now.

Please do a content search for privilige "UpdateAvailability". You can understand how element level granularity is achieved. Also look at activity - SaveOperatorUnavailability.
You can override "Data-Admin-Operator-ID" - Save activity to allow updates based on the priviliege.
Refer to the activity once and let me know if you still have any questions..

I checked the "SaveOperatorUnavailability" activity and found a java step checking for "UpdateAvailability" privilege . I still don't seem to get a clear picture as how to get this to implement only password update but not any other elements of the operator record. Can you please elaborate here?

I tried tracing the flow while saving an operator record , but this activity- SaveOperatorUnavailability is not invoked anywhere in that flow . when I examined the activity, found that UpdateAvailability privilege is being checked before allowing operator record save.
