Each version of Oracle and OpenJDK were compatible – meaning that if Oracle Java 8 is supported then OpenJDK 1.8 should be supported. Is there a reason this is not the case for Pega 7.2.2? Do you know whether OpenJDK 1.8 is being used with Pega 7.2.2 anywhere?
@lokeh As you say, the official support for OpenJDK 1.8 began with Pega 7.3.1. However, OpenJDK is a fairly stable vendor platform, and should work with Pega 7.2.2. In general, stack component vendors manage forward and backward compatibility effectively; Pega Platform should continue to operate correctly. If your client has an issue, they may contact Pega Support and we will work with them on the issue.
