Need steps to configure PRRestService servlet on Pega 6 Dev server
Hi All,
We are planning to expose the existing application process as an Restful API to other applications. But Pega 6 does not have Service Rest as rule type But it has Service Http which can be configured to expose the Restful service from Pega and achieve the same functionality as Service Rest.
For this, we need to configure the Rest servlet on Pega 6 similar to the PRRestService servlet in Pega 7.
Please for the steps to configure the Rest servlet on Pega 6. If the servlet cannot be configured, please let us know the steps to expose Rest service/ Http service from Pega 6.

Here are the steps achieve the HttpSerivce in 6.2 sp2 version.
- Create a Service Package with Methods and Service class. Deployment Type is not required in case of Rest Service.
- In Methods tab enter the Service Type as "Rule-Service-HTTP".
- Create a Rule-Service-HTTP rule with request and response parameters and an activity for further processing.
- After everything is configured, call the Http service using below url (you need to form the url with your rule names accordingly)
- http://hostname:8080/prweb/PRHTTPService/ServicePackageName/classnameofhttpservice/servicehttprulename

Below steps for http service, these steps will be same for rest service. If you have any queries , you can post here.
1. create service package
2.create service-http rule by providing above service package as customer package, customer class name, activity to be run part this service. map the request and response.

3. once you done with above steps, go to -> servcie package rule -> refresh methods -> there you will get Published URL.
There is no options for any query string parameters to be passed in service htttp. Http & rest Published URL's will be looks as below.
Ex https service URL: http://host:port/prweb/PRHTTPService/TestPackage/TestCustomerClass/TestHttpService
Ex rest service URL: http://host:port/prweb/PRRestService/TestPackage/TestCustomerClass/TestRestService
