Need to read the file size and last modified date from external drive
Hi,
I have a requirement, where the file size and last modified date of a file should be retrieved from an external drive and need to be configured as a message for Email notification. Can anybody tell how this can be done?.

Hi Henry,
When you say external drive, does it mean a repository in the server? similar to the service export directory??

You can write java utility for this.
java.io.File file =new java.io.File("FilePath");
if(file.exists()){
double bytes = file.length();
double kilobytes = (bytes / 1024);
double megabytes = (kilobytes / 1024);
System.out.println("bytes : " + bytes);
System.out.println("kilobytes : " + kilobytes);
System.out.println("megabytes : " + megabytes);
System.out.println("Before Format : " + file.lastModified());
SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat("MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm:ss");
System.out.println("After Format : " + sdf.format(file.lastModified()));
}else{
System.out.println("File does not exists!");
}

Hi Henry,
You can setup a file listener.
A file listener rule can look at the specified path in the server. Once you setup the listener, you can configure the service package, service class and the service file rule.
This service file rule in turns contain the mode for processing the file. Make sure you keep the processing method as "One file at a time".Here you can make use of the initial activity, where the size of the file can be obtianed using the following snippet:

This can be set up in the activity.
Then this can be used as a param for a correspomndance. Then call a mail API eg:CorrNew or CreateCorrAndSend.
