MSOGenerateExcelFile activity is taking time

We are using MSOGenerateExcelFile to download an excel file which is taking total 30Sec time to download only one record. This might lead to performance issue when there will be more record like 100/1000 it will take more time. Please suggest if there is any alternative to this OOTB or how can i reduce the time
