Maximum number of records through RDB-List method from external database (Oracle)
hi All,
Could you please suggest some ideas or ways to fetch more than 1.5 lakhs records from oracle database.
Actually, there are 8.5 lakhs records in 1 external table. We tried to fetch those records through RDB-LIst method in activity. But it returned only 1.5 lakhs records.
These returned records will be exported as excel. But we need all the records (8.5 lakhs) to be exported in excel. Excel file is like data dump of the table.
Please help me in this.

My recommendation is to pull data dump from database end instead of trying to use Pega as the record count is huge.
If you are trying to pull data from multiple tables based on some business logic, create a view table and add your records to it. Then pull the data dump from DB end for the newly created View table.

Instead of generating downloadable excel sheet with all records instantly, why can't you write an activity, queue to an agent which will generate the sheet and save it in a directory

Hi Sangeeta,
I can see the export to excel feature in report definition has the setting to increase the limit for the number of records to export. Generally Number of rows * Number of columns should be less or around 10 lacks in an ideal case and nowhere it is mentioned but its practical value.
May be you can try to map your external table with a External class mapping wizard, then try to create the RD on this class. As 8lacks is a huge number you can try to set the number of records to export field with different limit value and check the time taken for the retrieval with lesser columns in the report.
May be this way you can try to export records more than 1.5lack.

We can use external class mapping as Mahesh Mentioned and then Use BIX to extract all the results to CSV.
