Login with external database
Hi all,
can we use external database(example:oracle) to login to pega application or mapping that external database to Data-Admin-Operator-ID to login?
Please tell me step by step or with an image.

Hi There,
Did a quick test and worked for [email protected]
- Create new Database Instance pointing to External Pega DB.
- Update the Data-Admin-Operator-ID with new DB Name & Schema Name.
- Log-in with [email protected] and its successful.
- Did check tracer, its using external DB table.
You have to make sure AcessGroup & Other mappings are appropriate for this. Not sure if this has any other issues. Also, as a best practice have your own logic to get User details from external DB as an example whee Pega gets from LDAP.

If the requirement is to verify user credentials from external database, you can use custom authentication (similar to LDAP authentication) where you can fetch the details from external DB and verify.
