Launching Modal Dialog through script

Hi All,

I have a requirement where I have to conditionally launch a modal dialog on click of a button . I am running an activity on click of button based on its output I have to conditionally launch the modal dialog .

Can some body help me , or can tell me how to launch a modal dialog through a script . 

I tried using  a script   -  pega.u.d.performFlowAction("FlowActionName","","","pyModalTemplate") but it is not working .
