Is it possible to copy the existing PRPC database and use it in other environment?
In order to promote the Pega supplier recovery environments to test and prod from dev, can we copy the existing dev pega rules database and use it for test environment.
We are using Websphere 8.5.5 with MySQL backend data base.
Please let me know pros and cons if it is possible to do.

Before commenting further, I would like to understand the motive behind copying database .
If it is just to save the developers time then I would recommend you to create an application product from Dev and use it in UAT or PreProd rather than copying the entire database.

First thing first : I dont know whether Pega supports MySQL.
Assuming you are using MS SQL, yes you could literally do this. But that is not recommended.
Pros: U might save time.
Cons: 1) When moving to production, you need to import the RAP and you will never know what is missing from dev to UAT to pre-prod.
2) You may miss the environment variables .
3) In dev, lots of scratch and POC are done. I dont think you want to carry to your staging or preprod environment.

In addition to what Rajeev Ranjan has mentioned, some tables should not be copied over as they store the state of that cluster. Some tables are: pr_sys_statusnodes, pr_sys_updatescache, pr_perf_stats, queue tables which agents use among others. Considering that Pega 7.1.7 onwards uses distributed cluster based technologies like Hazelcast and Elastic Search, cloning the content of pr_sys_statusnodes can lead to undesired effects for both the clusters.
