Is it possible to automate core windows objects?
Is it possible to interrogate and automate core windows objects and functions, like the start button for example?

Through direct interrogation, the answer is no. There are ways to perform Windows-based tasks like copying files and things that do not require performing those steps exactly like a human being would (scripts and C# code for example). The general principle is that Pega Robotics much be able to launch the application that it is automating.
