Invoke api to populate "Search Index host node setting"
Hi Community,
I was able to Change DSS setting by activity API call. example :
Select activity “pxSetDynamicSystemSetting” Select Action and RUN.
I was looking for a similar out of the box activity to set "Search Index host node setting" for 'Host nod ID' and 'File directory' (Designer Studio --> System --> Settings --> Search).
Background
I have a multi node environment and I have assigned one of the nodes as a search node, I need to get the node id for this search node and use it to update the "Search Index host node setting" 'Host nod ID' field. hope the requirement is clear.

Just to clarify my original question or requirement, in our environment we have node assignment where we have one bix node, one background agent node, one search node and 2 userapi nodes. How do I configure the environment so that when the nodes start that the search node ID gets populated in the "Search Index host node setting" ?
From what I have read "Search Index host node setting" defaults to the node that starts first, this is fine if you only have 1 search node what about if i have more that one search node ?

Hi,
Could you please configure the search node using jvm argument during app server startup.
If we will configure a node as search node using jvm argument ,no need to add a search node from search landing page and this is suggested way of configuring search node.
For search node: -Dindex.directory="C:\searchindexdir\indexdir1" (as per your directory)
