Custom Search Index in Search Settings

Is there documentation on the creation and use of custom indices in the Search Settings landing page? I understand that custom search properties are used for customizing dedicated indices, but is there the ability to create entirely custom indices in Pega?

How did you create custom search,I don't think there is any OOTB to create custom index.
