Insufficient privileges to author custom java
I am using the cloud instance from Pega SAE 7.2 course. As operator SA@TGB, I can private edit the OTB activity
CL Rule-Obj-Report-Definition
ID pzViewExportToExcel [Final, Internal]
RS Pega-Reporting:07-10-15
However, the 'Save' fails with error: "Insufficient privileges to author custom java"
what role should the operator have in order to use java step?

Hi ,
You will not be able to save or checkin the final rules.If you really need changes for final rule that should go as HFIX.

On Pega 7.1.8,7.1.9,7.2 virtual machine instances (not cloud) I could private edit and save (not checkin) without authorization issues. Therefore surprised it's only an issue for the cloud instance. Is this restriction by design for this cloud instance specifically?
The reason for private edit is to debug a java step to narrow down why data format is different when exported from virtual instance versus non-VM.
