Instana or Google Analytics with Constellation
Does anyone use Instana or GoogleAnalytics with a Pega Constellation application? Currently we save the Instana script in a section and include this section in for example “pyTabbedScreenFlow7Main”.

The same functionality (to iunclude site wide JS Libraries) would be important to be able to include external constent managers to handle cookie banners.

@FranziskaFink You can integrate Instana or Google Analytics with a Pega Constellation application by adding the tracking script using the Web Embed Configuration in App Studio, rather than embedding it in sections like pyTabbedScreenFlow7Main. Since Constellation is built on a React-based architecture, including scripts directly in sections may not work as expected. For Instana, adding the script via Web Embed ensures application performance monitoring across all screens without modifying individual components. For Google Analytics, the same approach can be used for basic tracking, while Google Tag Manager (GTM) offers better flexibility for event-based tracking without direct script modifications. @Sairohith Thank you for your answer. If I understand you correctly, this is only a solution for the EmbedMode. What solution then exists for the PortalMode? If a best practice solution is not yet available, is one planned for a future version?

@FranziskaFink For PortalMode in a Pega Constellation application, you can integrate tools like Instana or Google Analytics by creating a custom portal wrapper or adding a dedicated React component to initialize the tracking scripts globally. This ensures that the scripts are loaded consistently across the portal. Alternatively, you can use ConstellationJS APIs (if supported in your version) to hook into lifecycle events or page transitions, allowing you to send tracking data dynamically. Since PortalMode operates differently than EmbedMode, direct script injection may not work as expected, and leveraging initialization points or React-based solutions is a better practice. If best practices for PortalMode are not yet available in your version, Pega is likely to enhance third-party integration options in future releases, so staying updated through Pega Release Notes is recommended. Can you please go through this video? Richard Marsot explained how to embed third-party libraries towards 2nd half of the session. However, this is not recommended best practice.
