Implementing MS Graph for sending email on Pega 8.5.3
Hi, our customer has notified us that they want to migrate their mail server to Office 365 and start using MS Graph as authentication method (for both sending and receiving email). from our checks we've found that Pega 8.5.3 support MSGraph only for Inbound (reading a mailbox) and not for sending email (it has been implemented with Pega 8.6) Is there a way to implement MSGraph for sending email also in Pega 8.5.3? or we need to upgrade at least to Pega 8.6? Hello @AndreaG86, Thanks for reaching out. The native support for sending emails using Microsoft Graph standard is introduced in 8.6. We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version to be able to use the Microsoft Graph standard for sending emails and also to take advantage of some of the other new features added in the latest version.

@nvkap We have a similar issue. We cannot upgrade right now. I need to know what other options are recommended. Firstly, is this even a problem? Microsoft states that "SMTP AUTH has already been disabled on millions of tenants that weren't using it and Microsoft will not disable it where it's still in use."

@ThorlikondaGopi Hi, we still haven't configured MS Graph, we're still waiting to open the FW rules to connect to server. I've just read some artivles in the community, wh are you asking?

@AndreaG86 - We faced exactly the same issue in our engagement. Client wanted to use MS Graph for setting the emails with them but we were on pega 8.5. Inbound was OK but outbound MS graph configuration was not available out of the box. The workaround that we did for this was to leverage AWS SES for outbound emails until we are ready to move to the next version. Contingent to your security restrictions, you could look at leveraging the option as SES supports SMTP for outbound emails.

@KarthikA4341 hi Karthik, thank you for the suggestion. however where on-premise and not with AWS cloud. We are checking with the mail server team which alternatives we have (probably we'll use SMTP on a different server)
