I have not personally worked on the Google /Facebook account to authenticate user . I think you will have to find out the API  which authenticates the user and sens the User ID as header information.(you can try Securely call Google APIs with OAuth 2.0 authorization.). 

After authentication once you receive the header information you can parse the header information in Pega  Authentication activity(Called from Authentication Service) for Authorization/login/Id creation in Pega on the fly.

From Pega end you may creat a Servlet mapping dedicated to this authentication and call the Authentication servivce name from there which internally calls the Authentication activity.

After cross checking with some of our product specialists came to know that there is no OOTB feature to authenticate Google/Facebook account.

So our suggestion would be to write your own custom authentication to achieve this functionality. 

During my research found an old document in terms of the process of configuring custom authentication over here. Hope this might be helpful to you going forward.

I'm actually working on a Web Self Service portal in Pega where in user will need to signup using their email id or authenticate using google/facebook.

These users are not prpc operators.. My idea is to just save the user details back to a flat db authentication table.

Registering is fine when user gives me a email id & password. However integrating that with gmail/facebook auth is the challenge :(
