How to Trace email listner running on multiple nodes
Hi,
How should i trace a email listener which is running on multiple nodes. we have a option trace service in cluster in action button which is next to the list of email listener instances in admin studio, but its not working as expected. what i mean by not working is lets say i have 3 nodes on which email listener is running.
Node -1
Node -2
Node -3
when i click on trace service in cluster option on Node-2 listener is getting traced only if the email request comes to node-2 if the email request comes to Node-1 nothing is getting traced, my assumption is as i have selected the option of trace service on cluster the request comes to listener should get traced irrespective of node on which it is getting executed. please correct me if my understanding is wrong and let me know how can i trace the listener running on multi node system.
Attaching screenshot how i am selecting option of trace service in cluster.
Thanks In Advance.

Hi,
Any body have any insights on this.
Thanks In Advance.

Try to trace in a controlled environment, where you send only 1 email to the mail id on which the listeners are running.
If you keep on sending multiple emails the selection may be random and you may not be able to the trace the actual email which you wish to trace.

@Tanay Kumar Bal Thanks for the reply. I am sending single mail, even the single email was not getting traced with the scenario i have mentioned in the post. only time i can trace the email listener is if the incoming email is processed on node on which i have kept tracing option of "trace service in cluster". As there are 3 different nodes in cluster i am unable to figure on which node the incoming email will gonna processed.

@suryachandrat You can use trace service on cluster on any nodes. It should be able to trace no matter which node listener it picks up.

@Tanay Kumar Bal Yes Ideally it should get traced. i am using the same option of trace service on cluster but i couldn't see anything in tracer if the request comes to different node. Any further insights on this ?
Thanks In Advance.

Unfortunately no. Ideally you should be able to trace the service on cluster and it will pick the first one it encounters across all nodes the listener is running.
You can also check that with the option of Terminate service trace in cluster. Do a cluster trace from node 1 and do a terminate cluster trace from node 2. That should also be working.

@Tanay Kumar Bal Thank You so Much for your response and valuable suggestion. i think approach you have suggested is the only option i have, i should terminate the listener on other nodes and trace.
Thanks.
