How to start and stop agent automatically without using SMA

I have a scenario where I have an Advanced agent which pulls out the records from a table and assign it to a queue (System-Queue-DefaultEntry).

From the queue I have 18 standard agents which are enabled on 3 nodes (6 on each node) will pick the records and process them.

So my requirement is to automate the process of enabling and disabling the respective agents without using "System Management Application"(SMA).

Please guide me on this?

we are using Pega version : 6.1
