How to route the webservices requests to the dedicated node type
Let's say am having the web services (Rest / Soap) which are packed in a service package. I understand how pooling works in the service package rule.
There might be a situation where there are multiple service hits from the client systems. Is there any way to route the service requests from the client to a dedicated node type in pega?
Simply, can we configure the node classification for the services in pega?

We don't have a direct way to achieve this using node classification but we can make use of Request processor and route the requests to backend and execute them asynchronously .
When we configure Request processor, either we can store the requests in System-Queue-ExecutionRequest-Service-Default class or we can create our own class extending this.
Pega-IntSvcs (ProcessServiceQueue) this agent is responsible to process the requests so we can associate this agent to a specific node so the all the incoming service requests can be executed on that node.

Hi vinay, Thanks for the response. But this way doesn't work for the synchronous mechanism. Is there any way where we can achieve it through synchronous mechanism?

One approach I can think of for this is similar to Request Processor, in the service activity queue the requests to a Queue processor or a Agent and configure that agent/QP to specific node so that the execution will be on a single node and it will be executed synchronously in the background and sends the response immediately.
We can have a single agent or queue processor to process all the service requests (SOAP/REST etc) in the queue processor or agent activity we can have a decision table and based on the request type we can execute business logic dynamically.

Hi Vinay,
This apporach is good. But am having one query in this approach.
Let's say you got the GET request. In the service activity, we are queuing it to the agent / QP which executes an activity to process the request. My point here is how can we get the response back from the agent/ QP.
I am thinking to store the response in an interim table and get that with the obj methods in the service activity. Is that approach you are suggesting or what could be the better approach to getting the response?
One more challenge I have noticed here, we are not sure how much time the agent takes to process the request. If we are going with the background process how can we get the response within the time

Hi Praveen,
I even thought of the same approach to return the response but this doesn't workout in efficient way as we will not know how much time background processing takes time to process the request and we can't make the requester to wait till the background processing completes the request.

Hi @P.Siva.Praveen: I dont see a direct way in PEGA to do this. Rather this should be done in the web server level to route the requests to dedicated nodes in the cluster.
