How OOTB AES 256 Data Encryption works in 7.3.1

I read in couple of articles, pega has given AES 256 encryption by default with Platform cipher. Can you please guide me to configure.

In article, i read "use your own Customer Master Key, managed by your private Amazon Web Services Key Management Service (AWS KMS)" ---> what do you mean by this. how Master Key is involved in the encryption . We dont have AWS key management, so we cant use this feature at all ?

Hi Pawan,

So if i want to use AES 256 Pega OOTB encryption, i need Amazon Web Services Key Management System (AWS KMS).

We are not using AWS cloud environment, our pega environment is within the bank, so cant we use this AES 256 new OOTB feature.

Please note that, we are already using AES 256, but we did this manually. Ran all the steps to produce the cipherkey & imported the jar into pega with commands to encrypt the data.
