How to manage chat and messaging deployment in production environment ?
Hello,
We're working on chat and messaging channel in Self Service application. Our channel is configured on our dev platform with associated instance of chat in digital connection manager.
We're now looking about documentation about deploy this channel in production environment.
Is there any best pratices and documentation about this feature becasue we didn't find anything in pega documentation which treat about this ?

Hello @AntoineB8854, it is not possible to copy your channel messaging connections between environments, applications or channels. Each environment requires a unique set of Digital Messaging Service credentials (Manager ID and Key). Once you install a set in your prod environment, you create a Digital Messaging channel there, launch the Digital Messaging Manager, then add your connections manually.
For connections like Web Messaging or Mobile Messaging SDK, you create a new connection from your new channel Digital Messaging Manager, and configure those settings manually. Each connection will have a unique ID, and it is not possible to copy them across environments (or channels).
For other connection types including SMS and Facebook, if you wish to re-use a connection in a new environment (e.g. using a test account in dev and staging environments), you need to remove the connection from the Digital Messaging Manager of one environment before you manually add it to another. You cannot have the same connection in more than one channel.

Hello @MireilleDallaire, ok i get your point mentionning that it's not possible to deploy connection channel configuration (including connection instance).
So i suppose that we need to have post installation documentation for our IT client. Do you if there is any documentation or template for post installation in environment ?

Hi @AntoineB8854, my apologies for the late reply! For the channel config (e.g. commands, responses, topics, entities, etc), you could export the ruleset where all of those assets are built and move it to a new system.
